So a friend of mine created a poll asking "Your favorite dA arteests?". When I first saw it I was like: "Oh, this is easy to awnser!". But as I was creating the comment with list of artist I liked I started to think "Wait, why do I like these artist? It would be better if I said the reason why I like them". So I started typing, and typing, and typing, and typing, and oh my God! I had a huge comment to post on her poll page. And since it was so big I thought of just leaving a comment with a list made of icons on her poll page so she wouldn't have a big chunk of text there, and post that big chunk of text here on my jounal.

I am actually glad she made that poll because I've been wanting to make a list like this in a while, but I've never started making, so thanks Kowie!

So I've decided to categorize the artists by what type of art/ series they draw more.

Sonic-ish artwork:
When I am looking at artwork that is inspired by any of the series of Sonic the Hedgehog, I will admire or get interested in that artwork if it, of course, resembles the style used on the official artwork/ merchandise of the series. I honestly can't stand/ don't get interested in Sonic-supposed-to-be artwork that has a mobian/anthro/whatever is called heads, and then a human body with fur or tails. I really hate that. But of course there are some exceptions for that. There are people who have their own unique style of drawing Sonic characters, and those character bodies and even the heads are different, or have little twists that makes it somewhat different from what we usually see in the original series, but we look at it, and we know that's supposed to be a Sonic based artwork with that person's style, and not an animal head with a human body. I hope I am making sense here... So these are my favourite artists on dA who make Sonic-ish artwork:
I love the way this artist draws her characters. She doesn't draw the typical Sonic bodies and heads, she has her own unique way of doing it which always come out so awesomely! Also, the way she colors her stuff is amazing! It always has this glow that makes everything look really nice! And her character designs are just awesome!
This girl is one of my favorite artists because her artwork really resembles Sonic. The way she draws looks so official, but she is also able of giving her artwork a little touch of cuteness. All of her art is so cute! One other thing I really admire on her art is the way she able to pose the characters, it always look so good! And her characters are absolutely cute, love the designs and the colors used one them.
I think that I've known Kowie for so long, even though we've never had too much contact. That and I still remember some of her old artwork. She has a submission in her account with some of her old stuff if I am not mistaken. This to say that it's really amazing how someone can improve so much if enough practice is taken! If we look at some of her old stuff, and some of her recent stuff we get like "Uuuh... was this made by the same person?". So yeah, she isn't one of my favorite artists just because she has improved so much over the years but also because her art is really good! She is able to draw Sonic characters very well, and they resemble official artwork so well. That and her own way of coloring looks really nice. I like to think that she has this "messy clean" style because her linear looks somewhat sketchy, but if you look closely, it's so clean well done. That's what I think when I look at her artwork, and I like looking at it!
I think that this person is so unique in every single piece of artwork she comes up with. The bodies never look the same. The coloring seems to be always different, but so freaking awesome! I don't really know how to describe the way she draws or colors, but whenever I look at her artwork, my eyes just sparkle from seeing how awesomely she draws and colors her stuff.
I really like the simplicity and the way this person draws, specially Sonic-like characters. His heads do look like if they came from an original Sonic artwork, but their bodies look a little humanized, but in a good way, it's not exaggerated. It looks really good when everything is put together. Also, his simple coloring style makes his artwork look very nice and clean.
This person's style is very unique! His artwork look so cartoon-ish and funny that is feels good looking at it. Also his coloring is simple, and it looks sorta flat, but it's very nice because it gives that "feels good" looking at it feeling! He doesn't just draw Sonic-ish artwork, he draws other stuff like most of the artists above, but I first found out about him through one of his Sonic-ish artworks, so I decided to include him in this section.
PDF is an artist that somehow escapes my rule of not liking to have mobian heads and human bodies. His bodies do look very humanized, but I don't know why I actually like to see the way he puts everything together. It doesn't look gross like most of the other artwork where you see human bodies and animal heads. With this he is one of my favourite artists because he is able to put everything together very well, he draws with a great detail, and all with a pencil, he doesn't have many digital work. And when he colors his stuff his artwork comes out very nicely!
Like Koa I feel like I've known Velocity for very long. We didn't have much contact until recently. I feel the same way about her as I do about Koa. She has improved a lot over the years. I remember what she used to look like and what she used to come up with. She definitly has a clean style. Even though I think that sometimes her lineart doesn't look too good, specially when it comes to shoes, I still think that she is a great artist. But I've noticed that she has improved on the way she draws shoes with what she has been showing wit her new design and all.
For me Willow is definitely one of my favorite Sonic artists. I don't even have much to say about her. The characters she draws come out always looking so official. And her SA coloring style always comes out so perfectly. She made an Halloween artwork of her character where the coloring isn't SA style, but it looks just amazing! It has this sunset hue to it that makes it look so warm. Ugh... it's simply amazing!

Naruto-ish artwork:
When it comes to Naruto-ish artwork I am not that picky like I am to Sonic artorwk. But of course for me to appreciate Naruto based artwork it needs to resemble the series in some way, and this applies to any artwork I look at. My favourite artists on this category aren't too many, but these are just awesome on what they do:


What I have to say applies to both. Both their art is very similar to whatever series they're drawing for. Every piece of art resembles each series very well. Also the proportions of their drawing are amazing, they seem to never fail in that. They're coloring is somewhat flat and isn't that complex, so it gives a nice clean look to their art.

Sailor Moon-ish artwork:
Again, for Sailor Moon it applies the same I said above for the Naruto artwork. The artwork has to somewhat look like the series style in some way. Well Sailor Moon is a little "old", and as old as it is, it doesn't have the same characteristics as nowadays anime/manga. The eyes. the hair and pretty much everything else was drawn on a different way from what we're used to see today. So in my opinion finding good Sailor Moon art is a little bit hard. But this artist draws Sailor Moon so perfectly, that I don't really look up for any other Sailor Moon artists, he really is an inspiration:
I don't even know what to say about this artist... he is the best Sailor Moon artist in my opinion. He draws and colors so well... Go check him out and you'll see!

Pixel bases/ pixel stuff:
I really like playing with bases, and making my characters on those bases. For me it's easier to make stuff on bodies that are already made, and if I don't like something on the base, I can easily edit it! With bases everything is easier. I have so many pixel stuff here on my computer, but I don't submit it because I don't consider it genuine artwork from me, since I didn't make it all by myself.
What I appreciate in bases is their quality, their size, their poses and their cuteness. The lines need to be as perfect as they can be, the shading as well. So these are my favourite artists who complete all the requisites:




Sprite works:
Ooooh sprites... I don't really know what to say here. For me sprites is like a very miniaturized version of bases. Though I think that sprites are harder to make because of their size, and it's sometimes hard to give it the detail we want. But some people just make it perfectly, and these are my favourite artist in that section:




About these artists, I didn't know in which category to put them since they don't really a "more drawn" series.
He just is one of my favourite. Check his art out and you'll see how good he is. He is a big inspiration!
I didn't place this artist in the Sonic category because he also has some Pokemon stuff. He is one of my favourites because I think that he comes up with interesting stuff, and I know that he works in big resolutions. He doesn't shade much, and he is a little clumsy with his lineart as I've been able to see closely, but he would be amazing if he would do more and more stuff.

And after writing for like... hours... I don't know what else to say. I've written so much, and now I am speechless.

So yeah... those are my favourites! *dies*

Edit: I should also say that there are other artists that I really like and admire, but some I didn't add to the list since they're not in my watch list yet. I need to go and collect them~ =3
